December 2012

Volume III, Issue 6

In this issue

- Welcome

- Small FIT open

- Million Tree Challenge

- Upcoming events

- Social networking

It's beginning to look at lot like... Spring? With just a week to go until Christmas, some folks are wondering when the snow will come. Thankfully, Christmas came a little early for those interested in small Feed-In Tariff (FIT) projects: as of December 14th, applications are being accepted for commercial/industrial rooftop- and ground-mounted solar electric systems.

Also in this December 2012 edition of London Solar News™ – brought to you by SunTap Technologies – we promote the Million Tree Challenge by ReForest London, and have a list of upcoming events.

Thank you for reading, and always feel free to send us an e-mail with any comments or questions to solar@suntaptechnologies.com. If you enjoyed this newsletter, forward it to your friends! You can also read our newsletter online.

We want to wish everybody a safe and happy holiday season, and a healthy and prosperous 2013!

Science by Santa - good kids get solar panels

Sunny regards,

The SunTap team

Small FIT open

The application window for the Feed-In Tariff (FIT) program for "small" projects – 10 kW to 100 kW – opened on Friday, December 14, 2012, and will close on Friday, January 18, 2013. With not much time to apply, we recommend talking to us right away if you have a large rooftop or plot of land that is unusable for agriculture (1000 square feet and up) to check the viability of moving forward with a project.

Small solar FIT projects will net you between $6 300 to $63 000 in guaranteed annual income for 20 years. With a return on investment of 13% to 15%, it's a solid turn-around on your money, and the income is recognised by many banks for loan guarantees.

Contact us to help put a (permanent) tenant on your roof (or in your field)!

Million Tree Challenge

Million Tree ChallengeReForest London is running the Million Tree Challenge, with the plant one million trees in the next ten years. As of today, the program has reached 97 220 trees planted in the city of London, above the inital projections; however, we can't be complacent! The goal for the first three years is to plant one tree for every Londoner (roughly 366 000).

SunTap Technologies is a partner of the Million Tree Challenge and encourages everyone in the city to plant at least one tree on their property (at home or work!), or in a planting project nearby. Check out the Challenge's Web site for more information on the environmental and financial benefits of trees.
